"Now we are graced with the climax and conclusion of the Empires Suite as introduced in track one. Put simply, this song centers on the theme of the fragility of permanence. We are self-created prisoners of the digital age, chain on our leg and a phone in our hand, unable to peel our eyes away and see the true issues that grip the world. We are fed the dopamine of seeing numbers increase on a screen while out there the empires rise ceaselessly to the point where they seem impossible to defeat. But we come back to one fact: nothing's resistant to all kinds of attack. This simple statement reinforces what we already know: Even the most intensely powerful empires have fallen before, and that will never change."
